Reading other forums, and it sounds like we're not getting quite the speed most are getting. What I'm reading says we should be getting high 50s to low 60s loaded with a 225, but were only getting 45-48 loaded. Running 93 octane. Does it sound like we need a new prop? Could the spun hub from today have been causing it to slip and not run as fast? We're running 5100-5300 rpms. I would think a matching prop would help, but it wouldn't drop us 10 mph.

What are y'all getting from similar bay boats with 225 horses?

Not real sure on speed but what 225 are you running that need 93 octane and if your loading the boat it will effect speed alot. I would also think you need to be turning more rpms but need motor information to know for sure

You're wandering in a vague world.
1. Internet speed is always suspect, just because ONE guy ran his rig ONE time with 2 gallons of fuel, completely empty, 40 mph tail wind and hit 60 mph ONE time, forever and ever that is a 60 mph rig.
2. Internet advice without seeing what you've got, it also going to be vague, there's a hundred questions left un asked, you don't know where to start.
3. You've got a 50 K rig, finish the job. The best setup guy in your vicinity is Steve at Steve's props at lake Fork. Drop a couple bills on him and let him get you dialed in and running at it's potential. You'll learn more from Steve about setup/prop/causes and effects than you'll learn in a year of stumbling around here.
