I set up a thread for paying it forward and a few people thought it would be a good idea to set up for donation to build up gear to donate to a wounded warrior. I am setting up this thread for that purpose. I will talk to you Jim and see what he thinks. If y'all want to put something on the list then post it up here and if this goes forward we can go from there.

I bet we could piece together all the accessories needed to go fishing.

Might need to contribute the yak as a group though since that would be a really large contribution. I would be more than happy to chip in on a yak

Hope yall have better luck with WWP than I have. I'm an 'Alumni' with them, every single attempt I've made to contact them and every plea for help I've sent to them has been ignored. Same with Project Healing Waters (part of WWP I think), Texas Vets Commission, the VA......everybody who supposedly "helps" vets just brushes me off. They seem to only want to 'help' us when they get publicity for it. The reason I got into fishing was on the suggestion of one of my counselors at the VA when she told me there were programs that could help. What a crock. On the flip side, fishing has replaced drinking.....so I guess some good did come of it.

Hope yall are actually able to get your donations and all to somebody who could use them instead of sitting in a WWP warehouse somewhere.

I'm a lot more keen on the idea of them hooking us up with someone, over giving them an item to distribute however they want.

We would be able to assist the person with learning the sport that way too

What about these guys. They are local also. Might put one together and have it as a prize for one of the vets. If you get a donation link or something we can help by donating.
