Looking for a place to find some blue or flatheads. I'm a catch and release guy so I promise I won't clean out your spot! Always room in the boat for co anglers too.

Sure don't. I've done some hunting in the area, but never any fishing.

Well in an attempt at some drift fishing I got skunked! I drifted from the old dam to the back of the Chanel that goes under lake shore then clear back to the tower on the new dam. Marked lots of schooling fish, tried fishing different depths. Not so much as a bite. Any suggestions?

I will give that area a shot. I usually launch from there anyway. There always seems to be a lot of tubers and jet skis back there so I generally just pass through.

It'll be my first attempt, any pointers are appreciated.

Shad. cut up or whole. When using whole, cut a lines on it to make it bleed.

I was using whole shad, they were frozen, not sure if they would bleed when cut. Never fished for blue cats, never even caught one by accident so I'm guessing here.

Txtightliner I have an open seat if your interested.

Opus, just so we are clear, could you define the flats? To me that means the shallow water. And are you talking back by the boat ramp area or actually off the point itself?

CORNBREAD I may take you up on that offer one day, Thanks.I did some drifting this evening by kpark and only caught one nice blue. Marked alot of fish just couldn't get them to take the bait(big cut shad).Had a few good bites but no pole benders. Fishing in 24-30 FOW.
I may give it another shot later this week.
