Sometimes they are just hard to find. Hang in there and sooner or a later you will start whacking em again.

Last time I went they are still pretty scattered, 8 to 12 feet seemed to be best, I caught around 20 with 10 keepers on brushpiles, and one on timber. I didn't see or catch any on the bridge, the water was pretty muddy by the bridge, and ive never done well over there when its muddy. Fish seem to move ALOT on belton because they have a lot of options, lots of deep timber, and small brushpiles for them to move around on., hopefully with the hot weather coming next week they will start to concentrate on the brushpiles and bridge more. A lot of piles are real shallow, because the water is low but when it gets hot and sunny they will go to those piles, as long as they can get out of the intense light, and there is forage nearby. Its sure been a strange year everywhere. We have to take it how mother nature gives it.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Ok, so...where are some brush piles? No fish finder in the boat...well, we were using mine that you cast out and reel in...showed a lot of fish in the shallows, but they were prolly just the shad...and, cant see much detail with it either...

I had one of those smart casts, actually worked ok until the transducer went bad, (frequently). your going to need a better sonar unit to find, return to and fish brushpiles effectively. You really need to find quite a few piles, because you need piles in several different depths, because the fish move back and forth, and water levels change. To answer your question though there are piles on both sides of the bridges headed south down the banklines, in 6 to 15 feet mostly and around into mc gregor cove and across the lake in owl creek and matheglin coves, .not many huge piles that will hold lots of crappie, just small piles holding a couple here a couple there, with an occasional good one that might give up a dozen or more. your not going to find 50 fish piles like some lakes hold. A lot of people have been posting 50 , 75, 100 fish catches on Waco, well that isn't happening on belton right now. 15 to 20 fish on belton is a very good day for 5 to 7 hours of fishing. last year belton was very tough for months post spawn for some reason.
