How long does it usually take for crappie to show up on a brushpile after you sink it? Jerry aka Big 10 on here took me crappie fishing for the first time on Waco last weekend, and we caught a good mess. He has this bluecatter wanting to catch some more crappie. I'm thinking about building some homemade piles and sinking them on Belton lake and giving them a shot.

I've caught them a week after dropping them. Could be sooner but I only have a chance to check them once a week.

It doesn't take long if its in the right place. I've caught them the very next day on many accasions. When the lake was down 8ft I could drop a pile and it would have fish on it the next day. It was winter and the fish wanted to be deep but they just didn't have many places to hide. Good luck
