They wouldn't be because:
a) The area is surrounded by golf courses, apt's, corporate bldgs. that dump a ton of fertilizer on their greens that eventually makes its way into the canals
b) They are canals and everything that is dumped on the streets including vehicle fluids makes its way through run off into these canals
c) There is trash everywhere along the banks, can you imagine what has been dumped in the waters :0
d) Because Old Skeeter said it wasn't safe - that Man knows a thing or two

lol thats my fav reason! but in that case i wouldnt eat out of ray hubbard either cause everyday i see dallas with a big trac hoe pulling trash out the water by the dumptruck fulls lol. plus the fertilizer will just help you grow bigger! rolfmao

Anyone try any carp fishing at any of the canals?

If So, how was it? I can't seem to catch any carp from these canals any tips/techniques for a young angler.

Any help much appreciated.

I would love some help on this too. Carp is all that I saw down there and if I was able to land one that'd be perfect grin

I have had them hit my rooster tails while bass fishing, Caught one by the O'Connor bridge one day that was well over 10 lbs. I have also had them hit my tube jigs in the culverts and rip jig AND line right off. They will strike Roosters and tubes!
