Caught 2 small redear sunfish from a small dock in about 6-7 feet of water. Does that mean there are more? I wanna catch some on purpose. LOL Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Yep. I'm a woman who loves to fish. And sure you can load my boat for me. Hee Hee

Lake Raven is loaded with them. Big ones to boot. Friends caught them on worms, I caught them on a fly. Not sure where you're located but I'd give there a shot.

if theres small ones that means that there were some else where that may be bigger and as the summer gets hotter and the sun gets higher watch for areas with high sahde or docks they will be there just toss a worm and catch away you can get many diff species that way, and remember take pictures =p
Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

Redear abundant in Lake Raven? Cool. Lake Raven isn't far. Use to live up there. Haven't fish there(years ago) since an alligator chased me outta the water. Maybe I should try it from the pier next time. ha ha Thanks

flybug, worms with a cork or straight line? The two I caught were on different days. Each hit a roadrunner from under the little pier. Hell, it may have been the same one. LOL Thanks.

I have caught Redear on both the float and bottom techniques. Friends of mine who use the drop shot have had super results. Best bait by far is the night crawler. If you prefer artificial curly tail grubs white or green/black seem to work well.
