The last time the Slabslayer and I were on the lake (Tawaka Waka), we had a blast. We managed to boat 48 keeper fish. Persuaded that the pattern was still the same, we decided to hit the lake again in search of a completed two man limit. The fish didn't disappoint. JD started the onslaught with a vertical approach. I decided to stick with one of my favorite styles (jig and cork). The bite progressed as the wind progressed and "cork baptism" became the theme of our trip. We ended the day with 50 additional passengers back to Forney. The fish were holding in water 7-10 ft and the crazy angler black shad was the ticket. I've posted a few pics of our catch below.

Nice job!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Great Job Kyron and JD. flehan flehan clap thumb I tried my best yesterday and just couldn't get it done. It rained most of the morning but I managed to miss that altogether. The Weather was perfect after the rain. I pulled up Bam Bam Bam three nice fish in the boat one after another. Then nothing. I think the fish were there, I just couldn't get them to bite. There were several times where I believe I could feel fish rub up against the line, but I couldn't get a strike. I tried the cork, the Black Shad and many other colors as well. I finally loaded up and went to Lavon. The wind was terrible on the timber, but the fish were there and they wanted to eat. I gave seventeen Big White Lavon Crappie a ride home. It was a tough day.

that's a awesome job! Were you fishing in the standing timber? I was going to take my family white bass fishing, but with that kind of crappie action, I might just put on the papermouths.
