Just got back from a nice trip to Bryan Beach. I got down there around 7pm on thursday and just kicked back and enjoyed the pre memorial day quiet. Sand bar was in real close to the beach and the tide was out far enough that I could wade through a small gut and sit out there in a camping chair.

Friday morning water was not too sandy and a nice green. Surf was choppy but not too bad... I waded out to the edge of that sand bar about 20 yards and was able to cast to the other side of a pretty deep gut where the waves weren't breaking.

Pulled out alot of puny catfish all morning casting a double drop with dead shrimp to the bottom. Tried some finger mullet with no luck. After a long lunch/beer break and waiting for the tide to start moving back out I went back to casting dead shrimp into that same gut.

Pulled out a nice redfish not 30min after I was back at it! Thats all she wrote for friday.

Saturday morning the water was a bit more sandy, surf a little choppier than friday.

Casting finger mullet and dead shrimp into the first deep gut and got not a single bite.

Great trip! Check out pics of my lone red

You must be a patient individual. I tried out there Saturday and the seaweed was unreal. Sounds like a beer break is what I was missing.
