This was the biggest Red, we caught 11 Reds from 4-10 lbs that were all released. We did some trolling under the power lines and had some luck, but in front of the dam from about 50 to 200 yards I guess drifting over schools of fish was good. The ticket for us was finding some schools of fish on the graph, killing the motor, use the elec trolling motor and drop some gold and silver spoons with yellow trailer down and using a 1oz weight rigged about 3ft above the spoon. then the Fight was On. The boys love it and the trip was a success. Hope this helps....it's all about the fun at Calaveras and .

Nice story. It's always great to hear about kids having a fun time.
It sounds like the Redfish bite is good then? Any Catfish caught?
I've been wanting to get my dad out to Cali and on some reds or kitties. I may have to "just do it" one day soon.
tight lines!
Shut up and fish!
