When I find the Crappie slowing down a bit, I usually head to Juniper Cove Marina. I don't usually catch a bunch of slabs but I usually get a few big ones. Lately I have been using a drop shot rig with a polymer knot along with a #4 and a #6 Gamakatsu hook. But one thing that is funny with this set up is that a lot of times it feels like dead weight. Once I even thought I was hung up but no, there was a Crappie on the hook. Juniper Cove Marina is on Lake Whitney and they have an indoor fishing barge (old style Crappie House). Keith Catch Crappie

Thanks for the post, I know that dead weight feeling well. While at Texoma I had a conversation about Whitney. If I can make myself drive past Aquilla, Whitney is next on my list of lakes to take crappie from.

A POLYMER Knot? can u demonstrate?
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

It's just like a palomar knot but with extra "mars". You know, poly(many) mer(part). A palomar is also a pigeon roost?
I hate that autocorrect feature!

Going way back up in that creek(Cedar Creek) used to be one of my favorite places. Long time ago there were many barges up there.
