Centex Summer Crappie Trail Rules
1. All tournaments will cost $50 to enter per team. 95% of the money goes towards that tournament, including any expenses of the tournament such as a pavilion rental fee, with the remaining 5% carrying over to the series prizes. It is strongly preferred that the money be mailed or dropped off to the tournament director, Dave Biester, 2304 Larston Lane, Cedar Park, TX 78613 a week before any tournament. Entry fees will not be accepted at a launch site the day of the tourney due to USACE rules, but I may be available to meet under certain conditions outside the park. Please call me at 512-826-5326 to discuss any issues as far in advance as possible.
2. You may enter alone or with the partner(s) of your choice. Teams may consist of three people if at least one member of the team is the age of 16 and under. Practice is allowed until sundown Friday the day before the tournament. There are no off limit periods during the week prior to each tournament. Spectators are not allowed in boat with the team during tournament hours.
3. Tournament waters shall be defined as areas open to all participants of the event and accessible by normal navigational means only. Fishing within 50 feet of a marina gas pump or within 50 feet of a competitors boat without permission from the first boat on that spot is prohibited. A safe and courteous distance should be maintained when trolling motors are in use. Any violation of off limits water will result in disqualification. When fishing bridges, another boat may fish the next set of horizontal pilings regardless of spacing.
4. The decision to cancel or postpone a tournament is in the sole discretion of the tournament director after factoring in weather and competitor concerns. If a flooding or drought event happens, the tournament location may be shifted by the tournament director. In the event of a cancellation or a move of the tournament, tournament entry fees will be refunded if you choose not to participate.
5. Teams may start fishing (line in water) anywhere on the lake at the time designated by the tournament director and all lines must be out of the water by the designated stopping time. The designated stop and start times may vary due to weather conditions so check the Texas Fishing Forum or call Dave at 512-826-5326 for the latest information. You will have 30 minutes from the designated stopping time to be in the weigh in line. One partner is allowed to weigh in the fish, but both must be present within 45 minutes of the stopping time.
6. All team members must remain in boat while fishing. If one partner exits the boat to use the RR or for whatever reason, all team members must stop fishing until that partner returns. 2 kayaks may count as one boat, but they must remain within 50 feet of each other at all times. No bank fishing is allowed.
7. Teams may use rod and reel combos, cane poles or any other TPWD approved legal fishing device for this species. There is a limit of 6 poles per team (up to 2 hooks or baits per pole) in use at any one time regardless of the number of team members.
8. Live and artificial bait may be used.
9. Crappie must be hooked and landed with a rod or pole by team member(s). Crappie must be hooked through the lip or in the mouth. (No foul hooking) Landing nets may be used.
10. Teams must comply with all state fishing and boating regulations. The use of PFDs and kill switches is highly recommended and required by law depending on age. Fishing and boating licenses are the responsibility of team members.
11. A team may weigh-in up to 7 crappie. 6 of those 7 fish must be alive when entering the official weigh-in line. Any team presenting more than 7 fish will lose its largest fish until the number of seven is weighed. You may weigh additional dead crappie as well. (1 with no penalty) Each dead fish presented for weigh-in besides the 1 authorized will be subject to a pound penalty per additional dead fish. Alive or dead fish will be determined by the tournament director.
12. All crappie brought to the scales for weigh-in must have been caught during the tournament hours from tournament waters by the team bringing them to the scales.
13. All crappie presented for weigh-in must meet state length requirements for the state in which they are being weighed and may not have any weight enhancements. Any team bringing an illegal crappie to the weigh-in line will be disqualified.
14. In the event of a tie, the first tie breaker after total weight will be the weight of the Teams biggest legal Crappie, then the next, and so on until the tie is broken.
15. Protests must be made in writing to the tournament director within 30 minutes following the end of the official weigh-in. All protests must cite the rule number(s) allegedly broken.
16. Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are not allowed to be consumed during tournament hours.
17. NO ONE can be hired or compensated in any way to fish with you during the tournament.
18. Instances of poor sportsmanship may be grounds for disqualification if the tournament director deems it appropriate.
19. No hole sitting by competitor or non-competitor boat during the tournament.
20. Series champion: Points towards the series champion will be awarded on a 10 point scale, with first at each event receiving 10 points and 10th receiving 1. All boats outside of the top 10 will receive 0 points. Your team is determined by the 1st tournament. If a planned team member is unavailable for the1st tournament, the tournament director must be notified prior to the tournament of the intended team. If a team member is unavailable for a tournament, only a junior angler may be substituted and still accumulate points towards the championship.

A week before tournament and lake is above normal pool and on the rise. I think boating conditions should be considered unsafe and moved to waco. sarcastic

Sorry for the slow reply to this thread but I have been at Annual Training with my TX Army National Guard unit for the last 2 weeks.
Checks received from:
Biester/Vincent/Vincent
Loafman/Sweitzer
Kubiak/Makar
Lampe/Olds
Dillard/Dillard
Buchhorn/Buchhorn/Sirkis
Let me know the name of your partner in the boat and who the JR anglers are.

FYI! I will be holding a fish fry for my soldiers and their family members in July for a family day. All donations of fish will be accepted at this tournament. Thanks for the assistance if you choose to donate. Bringing my LARGE cooler along.
