We have been a few times south of Shreveport, La. I can't remember the name of the marina there, but its the same one where the bassmaster classic was held a while back. There are tons of big cats in that area though. A buddy of my dads has caught several over 50 lbs there in the past month.

Where are you located? I've caught some cats below Denison Dam and there are gar all throughout the river. The cats I found were holding behind some rocks to escape the current. But I've seen them pulled up further downriver also.
