Went out with WCLBass this morning to go fish Alvarado. Launched at dawn, started the western shore across from the dam. I've never seen so much active feeding on shad before. It was really fun to watch.

I caught the first fish, a sand bass (DOH) on a 1oz crankbait, then on Texas rigged soft baits we started raking in the fish. WC brought in 10 in total on the Texas rig. I only had 5.

Around 11, I switched back over to my 1oz crank, and buzzed the shorelines out to about 5-6ft and brought in 4 more.

The fish were pretty small. Nothing to write home about, all under 3 lbs for us today, but they fight like they're 4 pounders. Very fun.

Cliffs:
The lake was pretty active today, in total we brought in 19. 15 on texas rigs, 4 (plus a sand bass) on a 1oz crankbait. All under 3 lbs.

All in all, a very fun day. Thanks WC for allowing me to tag along again!

Well WC is retired, and I'm still battling unemployment, so might as well make use of the free time, right?

(I honestly am trying, so please no hate frown )
