I hear/read little news on Lake Worth (Ft Worth) here. I have found there are two public ramps which seem pretty nice, and have talked to several fishermen there and find they regularly hold 'Working Mans Tourneys'. I know they are dredging the far south end of the lake and that the lake itself is old and murkey but, some of you have to have fished it and would love to hear any experience(s) you had there. I have added it to the close lakes that I will start out using and do my 'learning' there. Really doesn't seem to be much pressure on the lake. Thoughts ? r/ Fred

Oh it is very pressured fishes real small with being a shallow lake it has lots of different needs of what you might like to fish "Vince reeds", rocks, docks, and some times duck weed, stumps...The trick to Worth is if you think your fishing shallow you better go shallower

huh? There is some BEASTS in Lake Worth! Due to being on a consumption ban for so long, the masses left and it's become a great c&r fishery.

The bridge under 820 is where we usually launch. You have to buy a parking sticker from Navajo Burger right there. The lake is pressured but is still producing quality fish. The river which used to pay off is getting so shallow it is difficult to get in unless they start letting more water out of eagle mountain.

Well, today was NOT good at Worth. Heavy winds from S/SE and no hope of holding on reed beds without a power pole or other viable option. No trailers other than mine....so, guess everyone else decided in advance to not brave it. ah well, spring time in Texas. Always interesting.... More fishing days to come... r/ Fred

Lake worth is an on or off lake. They either hit everything or you get the 1 cooky cutter white bass and that's it. I fish it about once a week and its starting to pick up. I launch from the base so usually pick the deeper end on the lake apart from the 820 bridge down to the dam. Running spinner baits on the top side of ledges where it drops from 1-2 ft into 8-10. Have gotten a few 18+ in bass. The catfish are very aggressive. I have fought more catfish on lures than bait. Friend got a 17 lb blue yesterday on a spinner bait and 6 lb line. Its a good lake but there is still a ban on catfish due to pcb's. All the rest are clear to eat. The north end near the refuge off of 199 has all the shallow water and timber but ALOT of people fish it up there.

I'm surprised that they're pumping that silt to Silver Creek Materials. Silver Creek is known for their high quality organic soil amendments. I'm not sure I want Lake Worth bottom mud in my garden soil...
