Great tm. I like deep fishing and spot lock is great for that. when i troll a shore, i use auto pilot and constant speed; you just tweek the direction as needed wirh a tap on the pedal occasionally. minimal tm work. i do wish it had spot lock on the pedal, not just the remote.
get it, you wont be sorry. mine is 36 v and you can ski behind it. batteries last forever.

I installed mine per instructions. It actually extends past the front of your boat by 5 or 6 inches. Now your custom fit boat cover will not fit. When you unload your boat from the trailer, it will also hit the front roller on your trailer. Minn Kota has a retractable mount to fix the problem. It only cost $149, but that nothing compared to the $1489 the trolling motor costs new.

I put on an 80# Terrova with i-Pilot last fall. Love it. Takes away most all the hands-on effort of steering the tm. I used a hand-control tm for years prior to the Terrova.
No real negatives so for. I fish by running the bank as well as off-shore and haven't found any real downsides so far.
The Terrova does overhang the nose of my boat a few inches. But I have not had any problems with it hitting the nose roller on my rig so far. I think that issue is dependent on different factors such as how close to the hull centerline the tm is mounted, the trailer and front roller mount configuration, launch technique, etc.
I made a mounting plate out of 3/8" thick 6061 aluminum plate. Drilled plate to use the old tm's mounting holes on boat's front deck as well as the Terrova mounting holes. Sandwiched the plate between 1/4" thick rubber isolator pads to mount it to the deck and Terrova.

Love mine. Easy to fish off the back of the boat and use remote to stay on target. If wife or kiddo get broke off, spot lock while I tie, and I'm still within the target area. My cover fits just fine over the TM, and I've never hit it on the dock or loading up

The bracket and deploy is a minor pain but the advantages far outweigh any negatives. If you fish a lot of structure on an open lake it is the bomb.
