My buddy is convinced this is a channel cat. I say its obviously a blue by he says there are no blues in that body of water. What do you say?

I count 29 rays but I may not have them all. 29 is supposed to = Channel. Handsonly is right aout the color imo.

I am going to say blue due to the number of rays in the anal fin I counted but it is hard to count since I cannot blow it up here at week

We catch channels like that on live perch most of the time and blues that size usually on cut shad. What bait did you use?

It was caught in a private pond that connects to the Guad below canyon dam. Many channels have been caught out of there but this one looks like a blue to me. This picture is all I have to go on since I never saw the fish but I am sticking with Blue. The color is darker but that could be due to environment.
