My son bought this Commander 120 Angler new last year, used it 30 minutes on a local community lake, hurt his back the following week & now it just sits in our backyard. The kayak is just like new...not even a scratch on it. I know absolutely nothing about kayaks. What is a decent asking price along with some accessories

I think you could probably start by knocking 50-100 off of whatever he paid for everything if its in that good of condition. Kayaks hol their value pretty well. I wish I could take it off your hands. Very nice kayak!

What brand/model paddle and specifically what accessories will go with it? Knowing those will give us a better idea on it's current market value.

He paid 1146.00 for the kayak at Austinkayak.com. 272.86 worth of accessories including a custom cover (all wilderness systems), plus tax on all this.Does not include paddle or depth finder. If I was younger, I'd be using it in a New York minute !

That is a great kayak. I have a Commander 140 and it is a great kayak. But the Commanders don't seem to be very popular. I paid $800 for mine and it was spotless when I got it. It came with a HB 385 depth finder, Bending Branches Angler Classic paddle, crate with 3 rocket launchers, 2 Harmony bailing pumps, a Harmony collapsible paddle, a rudder kit, front and rear skirts and even a sealed gel cell battery for the DF. It was literally a steal. The guy had it on Craigslist for 6 weeks when I bought it. He even threw in a bed extender and a stand he had made for it. I don't know why they are not more popular, but they don't seem to be. You may not get what you think it is worth, sad to say.

Good luck with the sale. BTW, you didn't state your age, but I'm 54, and there are several on here who are older than me and still going strong. Try it out. You just might enjoy it.

Bass Art, that sounds like a smoking deal you got lucky on that!!
Roger T take 15 to 25% percent off the total and give it a shot. It is used and you won't get much better than that. Get ready to get low balled. Adjust as you see fit. Its a nice yak, don't let somebody take advantage of you. Good Luck!!

I am a physically fit 74, but I don't think I belong out on Calaveras in a kayak...at 54 there would be no stopping me. You did get a steal on your kayak. I tried talking my son into something cheaper, but NO ! I was expecting around 25% off, but I don't think he would take anything less. That money came hard.
Thanks for your input,
Roger

Be very specific when you list it. Take lot's of pics and include some of the bottom. The more "stuff" you list the more interest people will have in it. Include brand names and such.

Mines worth more to me than my wife. Lol

Do a few Google searches and see what the average selling price is. Then if you really want to move it go cheaper than everybody else.

My son said he would probably let it go for 900.00. He would be losing 600+ for a kayak that just came out of the shipping wrapper..almost. Now that have have some idea of the market value, I'll go ahead & list it on Craigs list, plus this web site.
Thanks again for your help,
Roger

Please reply to my email with a list of all the toys that come with it.
Might make a difference.
Thanks
