Does the 1198 use same transducers and GPS antennas as the 1197? Thanks

Yes it does. I just replaced my 1197 with a 1198. Everything worked fine. You might check how many channels your gps puck has. If it is 16 like mine then it works great.

have you loaded the latest update to the 1198? you may have a glitch that got fixed in an update.

All the same parts. Stay away from any software higher than 6.490 unless you need it to run 360 imaging or the HS GPS receiver.

I do not have any issues at the moment. I am contemplating upgrading to an 1198 soon. I really wanted to use the wiring already on the boat as its a pain to run new ones in this particular boat. my software is below what was just posted as well since I have the Interlink module. apparently as I was told by HB you cannot get them to talk to each other with the new software on both units. That came from the CS rep the other day when I called.

Depending on what your other unit is, ethernet is the way to go. Interlink is old technology and not very efficient.

Interlink is old technology and not very efficient. this, I hooked ethernet to my 898hd/998 and man does it make things easier. mark check the gps puck on yours, if its the 16 channel use the 50 channel that comes with the 1198, much more accurate and faster.
