At the price point I don't think anyone can go wrong in choosing one of these as your angling kayak. .
I've read the past reviews and kept a lot of the minor complaints in mind (flexing top plastic, dry bag leaking). The top plastic flexes as much, if not the same as any others. I noticed no issues with the quality of the material. I was concerned about the past dry bag storage complaint so I put a little bit of water proof grease on the threads and put my iPhone, wallet, and keys into a dry bag before putting it into the dry storage. At the end of the day not one drop of water was in the dry storage compartment so no issues there either.
- I chose Desert Storm for the color because the name is bad [censored] and its lighter so I didn't want to be sitting in a dark yak when it gets into the hotter months.
-Tons of storage. Everything can easily be reached.
- The seat....the seat is comfortable! Easily adjustable on the water. As long as you install the handle in front (like in a car) it is very easy to pull the lever and rotate the seat.
-You are not going to set any speed records, but it is a stable and comfortable ride. Do get a longer paddle though if you plan on fishing from the seats high position. Just makes it easier on you.
- Only a few minor adjustments such as extending the anchor trolley further to the front and the rear but that is more preference. After all, personalizing these a bit is part of the fun.
I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, user friendly angling kayak.
A couple pics. One when I got it home in the garage and started getting it ready. Second is from today while throwing a square bill while standing. The leash to pull yourself up is sturdy and very easy to use to stand and sit back down.
No complaints here! None...
