Do you go ahead and dole out the extra $30 for the curado? Is there a big difference in these 2 reals?

I've used curados, chronarchs, and calcuttas but never a citica. Thoughts

Are these E series or G series? If they are E series, go with the Curado, if they are G series, the Citica is the old E series Chronarch (not exact, but pretty close). So it depends on what your looking to use it for, both are good reels, but I have heard a LOT of negative about the G Curado. Haven't heard anything bad about the G Citica. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Gearing and internal parts are made of different materials and overall less quality. It will show down the road

The Citica is not the old E series Curado. That would be the new Chronarch.

Go up to the Chronarch E's. Curado G's are junk compared to the E's.

I have E series of both. I really think the Citica is the best value.

The gearing is no different than the old B Curado. The ergonomics are the same as the Caenan.

Go with Lew's... Shimano's are not made like they used to be.

I'm not sure I follow... My question was, should I pay the extra 30 for the curado or go with the citica. You said go with the e series. Is that with both reels? Can you even find the e series in retailers?

I'm thinking about trying a lews. What model should I try first? How's that $100 speed spool compare to Shimano?

Get the E series in either reel. Which one depends on what gear ratio you want. The Curado comes in a 5-1 and a 7-1 and the
Citica comes in a 6-1. I think the Curado is a bit smoother than the Citica and it also comes with over sized handles. Either reel is a good choice. I have several of both and I choose them based on the gear ratio I want for the technique I am going to use.
