to get soured grain from the bank, to the same distance you are targeting your casts... I started making chum last year, and always take some on BWOOD's boat when i have it handy, but i spend a LOT more time fishing from the bank as I don't yet have Dave Ramseys permission to buy my own boat.. I have cut off the end of a whiffle ball bat, but that only allows about 20-30 yards of chumming.. I've wracked my brain and come up with a few crazy ideas, but they just aren't feasible, as I don't want to litter... so, if your plan isn't nature-friendly/biodegradable, it wont help me... I KNOW one of you crazy SOBs has come up with something.

Large Spomb about 4-5 casts but I would not put that much chum out at once- The cat fish will fill up on the chum and not take the Hookbait - You can chum yourself right out of some catches

Use to make a Big Sling Shot with a Big pocket. A little messy unless you chum with Range Cubes.

I have a lake point I wade to every summer starting in May...ending October I use sour grain in 10 gallon buckets.with whole frozen shad I catch.. I wade the point in waders to the distance I cast out.. Salt the area good till all the soured grain is scattered in area. "wear good long rubber gloves..do not get the sour grain on you..the smell does not come off skin for a long time".. Then the frozen shad are scattered in the same area.. Walk out and leave area..I do this 4 days a week same time late evening till ready to fish..day you fish I use a large empty plastic coffee container to scoop more sour grain out..then throw out mash in area you have salted earlier..only now from shore salt areas.. Continue this weekly and you will have no problem catching all the cats you can carry. We fish early and late.use FRESH shad for bait or a good punch bait. lots of people have better ways I guess...but this is how I have done it exact from the late 60's and it has always worked for me..

Yeah, I think I'll go with the frozen method. It will help keep it concentrated in a more specific location, but my biggest concern is that the grain will settle and the juice will freeze above the milo and not all of it will hold, but I could be wrong. Suppose I'll know on Sunday.

We used a sling shot with my granddad when I was a kid he had rigged some cup to place more in at a time... Kind of reminds me of a modern day sling shot use to throw tennis balls for dogs..
