Is the base model Lews reel that is $100 a good reel? Anything better for $100? Bought one of the Vandettas from Walmart for $30 and am looking for a inexpensive reel to put on it. I really didn't need another but they were too cheap so now I gotta have a reel for it. Got a 7-0 medium for shallow CB and spinner baits. What do y'all recommend? Revo? Lews?

I own two of the $100 speed spools, one tournament mg, one tournament pro and i recently purchased a laser mg. I really like them all. The $100 speed spools you are asking about cast very well and I have no complaints with them, because of my success with them I see no need to purchase any more of the more expensive speed spools. I will be buying more of the $100 ones in the future. Hope this helps.

I have thrown a frog on 80lb braid on one for 2 years now and I have never even cleaned it. The only reel I own that I never have done any maintenance on and it still works flawlessly.

The Lews are great reels and you won't think twice about your decision after using it all day!

The Lew's Speed Spool is a great reel and hard to beat for the money. The Laser MG series has a graphite frame and is $20 cheaper, but the Speed Spool is my first choice because it's smoother and just an overall good reel. You'll love it.
