Done a trip down like say a 100 mile stretch of the trinity Would it be possible to do it without having to deal with dams or anything interfering with the trip?

Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

I have no idea. But when you find out I would like to know. This sounds like fun.

I've looked at the river as much as possible with google earth. There are several spillways through Dallas and a little south I think. After that I don't know. I think MR on the forums was traveling the river a small section at a time from DFW to the coast. He might chime in on it.

I've acquired all the gear and planned the route for a 100+ mile Keys trip. Just need to do it. Hard to find 14 days to get away. Soon though.

Dang 100 miles down the trinity? Better bring a few body bags. I'm sure you'll come across at least a couple body's.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

100 miles of paddling in the keys? Its much better to get a boat and a room on the water for a week. It isnt that much either. 2 bedroom $800. 20ft boat about $600. Not bad to split with 2-4 people. I do it every year.

To do 100 miles of the Trinity you would have a number of dams to deal with. The problem is (as stated in the link above) the steep banks and log jams as well. You will not find any places to camp along the Trinity so a 100 mile trip would be tough in one day. The Clear Creek area of the Trinity through downtown Fort Worth is beautiful and the fishing is just great.

Yep. Key Largo to Key West. Florida Overseas Paddling Trail. I get a rental house in Florida every year too. This will be a much different type trip.
