Any reason why so black, lake is fairly clear with some pads.

I have never seen that. Maybe something to do with the mud?

thats just regular black bass thats how they got their name from centuries ago

Caught hundreds of bass out of this lake and all are light in color "normal" color bass

the clearer the water , the blacker the bass

I think they are pretty rare but others on here have posted pictures of "black" bass. Very cool.

I had one like that last year and was amazed at it's "blackness."

I've seen a couple, all in East Texas. But I have seen a pic of a big one, ~7lbs from Falcon before.

Thanks for the replies. Fish is definitely unique compared to the other ones in the lake. We spotted the fish swimming about 20 feet away and at first look I thought it was a catfish just because of the color. Once it was a confirmed bass on a bed the flipping started. She is darker then the black and blue jig I was using lol
