I just installed the full size fish finder battery. Awesome, comes with everything you need. The only thing it dosnt come with is a good manual. I'm wanting to know about charging the battery. I have it plugged in and the red light is on. Will the green light come on when it's charged. Do I need to charge it out of the box?

I don't know about a hobie charger but typical battery chargers are red light=charging and green light=fully charged.

It depends how long it's been setting, if you need to charge out of the box. It's always better to have it at full charge before heading out. One less thing to worry with while out.

I have had mine for 3 weeks. Installed it right out of the box. I have fished with it for three trip averaging about 6 to 8 hours each and it still has not died. I run a lowerance x-4 and have it 100% power so it should run you for at least your first outing

Better to keep you battery fully charged. Not good to run it down. It will last longer if you keep it charged.
RealBigReel I don't go too fast but I go pretty far.
