Thinking of buying another inflatable as my last of two is done after 10 years of use. Cost me $100 per year for the boat. Have a good 8 hp Merc and a homemade frame and two seats and other stuff. I spend the summer in NW Wy and can use it on the Green River and area lakes. We spent our first year in Rockport this winter and had the lack of a boat remorse. Did some surf and pier fishing with not much success. I have fished out of one in Cabo and all over the midwest and had a lot of success. Think it is in part to not spooking fish with a large boat. Handling a large boat is getting hard with older age. Probably a 10-11 fter. My question has to do with the oyster beds and putting a hole in it. Quality boats are pretty tough but what do you think about the idea of how safe and useful they would be in the bays around Rockport. We will be spending the winter of 2013 there. Do I need to go out with a guide and learn the area? Thanks...
