Ok, here's what I have heard...Some guy fishing in a tube by one of the older bridges on CC supposedly caught a limit of crappie today, that included four (yes four) 3 plus pound white crappie...supposedly someone looked in the cooler and saw the bigun's....Now, that story is possible, I'm just wondering if any of you CC regulars or guides, were aware of this campfire info? Pics? I have no idea of the origin of this story, if there is any fact to it, or is it just another tall campfire tale. Please advise!

Twas not Wylie!! But, it wouldn't surprise me that this happened.

Not that CC isnt possible of producing a couple 3#, but I like to think if just 1 was caught we would hear about it, let alone multiple 3#. If i had to bet i would say the fellow prob. had a couple 2+# and the guys looking in the cooler kinda thought they were bigger than they were! HAHA Or somebody is eating some big crappie that is keeping their mouth to full to brag about the catch!

I also received a phone call yesterday. I got the same story but, it was on a different lake. I was promised a picture today! I won�t be holding my breath.

There must be a picture floating around or it is jut another fish tail.

I figured you guys would certainly hear of such a mess of 3lbers caught on one limit...unless, maybe that guy caught more than a limit and was keeping it real quiet till he had a chance to eat a few...anyway if you hear anything please let me know...

Heavy Fishing indeed. I haven't heard a thing about it, which leads me to believe it isn't true. We see one or two fish a year around the three pound mark. Is it possible? You betcha. Is it probably several really nice 2.5lb fish, well probably. I can't say either way, all I know is I want to see some pictures, as I'm sure Grease Bath does too.

Well I did receive the picture that I was promised.

People crack me up, they catch a 1 pound plus crappie and call it a 2 pounder. In this case it was 2 pound plus crappie and they were calling it a lake record 3 pounder. Without some type of proof it's just another fish. He said he didn't want to certify the fish so he could eat them. I will admit it was a nice fish, just don't think it was a 3.

I have fished CC for 40 plus years and have only caught one 3 pound white crappie. I will say that this year I have seen the biggest white crappie on average as I ever have. But would have to second guess someone hauling in more than one. I can see the oldest bridge left out my back door.
