The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our third tournament of the year Saturday March 9th at Lake Tyler. Temperatures weren't too bad but there was a persistent 15-20 mph wind blowing all day that made life fun for all. 23 boats came out to fish with us. Fishing was tough for the most part. Congratulations to the team of Ronnie Pettis and Jared Fish on their victory. Here are full results and pictures.

Just missing a check this month but with a solid day were Matt Jackson and Russell Olds. Here's Matt with two of their fish.



Fifth place with 5 for 11.46 were Jerry Brown and David Simmons. Here's David with two of their fish.



Fourth with 5 for 11.84 was the Father/Son team of Dennis and Damon Machost.



Third with 5 for 12.00 was the Father/Son team of Eric and Evan Vidal.



Second place with only three keepers for a solid 12.26 was the Father/Son team (notice a trend here?) of Jack and Fly Scheel.



Our winners were Ronnie Pettis and Jared Fish with 5 for 13.98. Rumor has it that there were a couple 4 pounders caught in the last 20 minutes. Here's Jared holding them.



Big Bass for the tournament went to Evan Vidal with a beautiful 6.18!



It makes me feel good seeing all the Father/Son teams that fish with our Club. Fishing should be about having fun on the water and who better to share it with than a family member. Sorry I killed a bass. We must have been the only people in the tournament fishing 10xd's. They really do a number on the fish.

You might be the only one in the club young enough to throw a 10XD more than a few casts! Those things are beasts.

Oh come on I know 40 somethings can through them to. You just need the fighting belt strapped to you like deep sea fishing.

I've known Preston and David for many years and they will be two good additions to your club. Both great guys and great anglers also.
