 Great Crappie Print...

Had a local artist, Calvin Carter call last summer. He said he heard that we caught quite a few crappie and wanted to take some photos for reference for a painting he was working on. Told him to meet us at Powell Park at noon and he could take all the photos he wanted. The painting was recently chosen as the 2013 Texas Freshwater Stamp. It will also be the cover of next months Texas Outdoor Journal.

He nailed it! Looks good enough to eat! Beautiful Pomoxis nigromaculatus. I'd love to see a matching Pomoxis annularis.

would be cool to put on a tshirt also.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
