Fished for 2 hours caught 35 whites with my wife trolling
a pearl white fat free shad and large minnows in the back of coves around Canyon Park. The area is holding a lot of white bass the females were still full of eggs.

Great job sabigfish. I fish LMB mostly but want to fish whites this year. I'm a total rookie to whites have caught a few by accident. Will the whites stay in the coves or will most run up the river? Will lack of flow of the river prevent them from running up river? What depth will they be in? I live on the southside of canyon lake about 5 min from boat ramp 6 I have heard that they can be caught on the tom creek flats this time of the year.

The majority of the white dont move up the river but spawn
in the back of coves that have creeks/springs running into the
lake.

With all this warm weather the water should be warming up I expect that whatever going to move upriver will do so in the next week.
