I don't mean to start another thred about the 10XD, but I saw one for the first time today at an outdoors show.......

They are huge. What rod do you use for that? That thing must pull like a ton of bricks.

Threw one a little the other day.
It didn't seem to pull all that much worse than a 6xd or DD 22.
Anything you currently use for deep diving cranks should work on the retrieve.
Casting is a little different. That's where some more backbone in the rod could help. I'm running Dobyns 805 CB RM 8'.

"Slow ahead." I can go slow ahead. Come on down here and chum some of this [censored].

Not hard to pull at all, until it gets to the boat.. doesn't want to come out of the water ..

What kind of "true" depth does it run?

7'10" BPS MH cranking stick. and it will run a true 25ft. It takes it almost no time to hit the 20ft mark. And cast good to. You have to throw it more like an a-rig you cant snap the rod back and cast.

I am throwing mine on a 7'10 wright & mcgill s glass crankin rod. Using 12 lb and i swear the second you pull our start to crank this thing it goes straight down. It must hit 5 ft with the first crank. Lol. I caught one in 16 ft of water dredging it off the bottom.

I think most of your med-heavy cranking rods could probably handle the retrieving the bait, just need to change how you cast a bit.

It's beyond me how some of ya'll can stand to fish this thing on a cranking rod. I throw mine on the same set up I throw my A-rig on. 20# fluorocarbon I can still get it down to 25 ft.
