Just booked a campsite for spring break at Pedernales falls. Anybody been? Looking for any insight you may have. Hope to do a little fishing while I'm there as well.

Fishing...Maybe. Find the pools. Camping is great.

great thanks.
I've read that Cats are decent in the pools and occasionally some bass are around.

I don't know if there's anything in them pools. Whenever a flood comes around, they get flushed out pretty good. Down below the pools the river gets pretty wide and I've pulled small channel cats out of there. I've seen lots of carp crashing too. The sand is really really nice. Be prepared to cast pretty far.

Me and my wife go down to visit family in San Antonio quite a few times a year and have been there quite a bit to just do some hiking around. It is a really neat place but the area's we go to have a lot of big boulders and area's that take some effort to get around but we really enjoy it.

So here's the report.
Loved the park. Excellent hill country views everywhere you turn. Nice camping spots.
The river is a little difficult to get to. We made the trip down a couple of times but did not get to do any fishing. I did see some people hike down and fish and found what looked like a good spot. Too bad it was on the last day there.
Great location. We made easy trips to Austin, Luckenbach and Fredericksburg. Ronnie's Ice House in Johnson City (10 minutes from the park) has some great BBQ.

Awesome! Thanks for the report. We've only swung through this park briefly and have been curious about it for a while.
