JJ,
I have not talked to Jody (Central Texas Catfish Tournament Director) in a long time. He stated he had to sit out this past year due to obligations & work (I think he also mentioned work).
Plus at the time, many lakes in Central Texas were mostly not accessible due to unbelievably low levels because of the drought of 2011. Those that were could be classified as dangerous at such levels. Sadly, this could also factor into Fishing Tournaments, especially if there is a fatal accident.
As you know, the mid section of the USA was hit in 2012 with practically the same manner as we were, as to drought. I recall many pics & stories of super low lakes.
We were very blessed & lucky to get lots of early year rain that topped most of the lakes off, such as Lake Limestone. However, as time has gone by, the levels are headed back down.
As to the CTC website, I can't officially say, nor do I know. I do know it was up for renewal when it went off the air. There was also some glitches from time to time which may have been server problems.

I think it would be a good thing with all the local cat guys. I've never chased cats from a boat but would be willing to partner up if I am able. Hell atleast I make a good bait/net man. lol

Bfs0078 - I am looking in to trying to set up a tourney in central Texas, i have to see what it would cost and how many people would actually be interested and just find out a little more info on how it all works first.
Parttime - how much is it to fish that tourney? What day?

The tournament is 19 January, 2013. Cost - $20 membership fee, $40 tournament fee, and an optional $10 big fish pot. We are also fishing Bastrop in March, if you have never fished it, check it out,it is a neat little lake. Last year on Bastrop we had three fish brought in that beat the lake record at the time.

Well I guess I don't have the official breakdown of what is North, Central, South, East and West Texas. To me, anything from Austin to Waco is central. If you have some official delcaration of these areas, please share.

By map yes its central Texas. That being said, typically that is called the "hill country" like Dallas/Ft Worth is called north texas and Abilene and such called Pan Handle, Lubbuck/Midland West Texas but El Paso being farthest west be the Pecos Region. What James is saying what is Normally Central Texas is about Georgetown area north to around Hillsboro up I35 and Lampasas US 190/281 to Hwy 45 region. But yes John you are correct that Buchanon/Inks is techanically in the central part of the state.

I would be interested in fishing a cat tournament if it was held at a lake between Austin and Waco (Central Texas)
