reading this post is disturbing to me. I'm glad you had your issue fixed by an honest, friendly tracker staff. I bought a brand new mako 181 last year and the VERY FIRST time out we got a beep and battery was drained. Took it home charged it up and again battery dies on the water. New boat with zero hours on it. We had no clue the optimax motors had an alternator. took it in for service and we are told at one point in time we blew a fuse and alternator stoped working. All we did was gas it up and put it in water. New bruenfals reps said the only way that fuse blew was of WE touched terminals on battery and warranty could not cover. So we paid 80 for fuse and half hour of labor. Good service huh?

Gary, I really do appreciate that. You know i bought the boat in Apr '11 and never got a notice or reminder for yearly service from those guys. When I bought the boat they advertised 5 years warranty which was m promotion that I hope they squared away. Completely off topic but should the 2008 90hp optimax have come with a flo torq III hub assembly?

Raiderred, give me the motor # and I'll look up your warranty details so that you will know. When the boat was rigged at the selling dealer they should have used hub kit #835257k9 which is a flo-torq 111.

That's what I figured. I just bought that kit off of eBay unused it originally came with the flo torq II on it. The kit that originally came with it had a very short brass sleeve. The new torq 3 looks like that brass sleeve will run all the way to the thrust washer.my name is Robert Ramos. I bought the boat,it's under my name but I leave it at my parents house which is in south Texas. I work nights so I will have my dad go out and look at the motor number and give you a call. His name is Rene, and I'll have him ask for you. You have no idea how much I appreciate this!

jwallbassin - Glad to hear that you were able to get in-touch with Gary about your issue. Gary and Jim at Austin Tracker helped me with some serious issues I had this year with my Nitro, and I cannot say enough good things about their customer service.
