mettle is on sale for 50 and revo is 100 at academy. i am new to bait casting but i can buy two or one. is the revo that much better .

ehh, its a toss up given the price. the revo is a better reel, but i wouldnt say it is twice as good as the mettle. i have 3 mettels, i love them, and have no problems with them. that being said, i bought 2 of them when they were marked down to $25.

just get the mettle. ive fished both and the mettle is just as good. if a mettle breaks which it rarely happens. academy will exchange it no questions asked.

there isnt a diffrence. also since you said youre new at baitcasters dont get mad if you backlash its not the reels fault lol. ive taught my girlfriend and my cousin how to use a baitcaster using this reel. the brakes are on the inside of the left side plate if you didnt know.out slows the spool down and pushed in speeds it up. dont do that. good luck man!

There is no comparison get the revo sx. and yes I have both. The revo is normally 169.00. Its 3 times the reel, just on closeout till the new generation revo's are out.

My brother would not listen to me. I fish Revo SX's he fished Mettels until a few months ago. I let him use three of my Revos and that is all it took. The Mettle is a good reel for the price but IMO the Revo at a $100 is hard to beat. Just bought a new one at Academy today.

the mettle is a good reel for the money but i would say the revo is much better.

mettle is a decent reel but in this case your getting twice the reel with the revo
|
