Headed south again today....anybody been that would be willing to share a report? My partner tejasbasshunter was supposedly looking for the mother toads but work got in his way. He's been down there since Mon and has yet to get on the water. Today thru Sunday will be a different story. I hate to say this, but I haven't fished up here at all since my last trip down there, July 12-15th. Like everybody says "THAT LAKE WILL SPOIL YA". IT HAS!! I will blame it on the heat, though....

Stay south - the water is filthy north of school bus. Fishing is slow so be ready to downsize. we had the most luck on rocky points near the mouths of coves. Dam wasn't bad either. Fish are spotty.

Be down in a week or so, leave a few for us...........

I was down there last Friday thru Monday. The evening bite is pretty good. They didn't start really biting until about 0745-0800 in the mornings. If you can find some rock piles in 6-10' you can catch some decent fish on jigs or crankbaits. There are still a lot of fish in the timber on the Mexico side between the Veleno and Salado, you just have to weed through a lot of 2-4 lb fish for a few bigger ones.

Well, we made it back last night around 10pm. Overall, fishing is tough. Not to say we didn't manage some good fish, though. Only three or four was picture worthy but we only took a pic on tejasbasshunters's 8lb 15oz. Next biggest was 6lb 14oz, and we caught another six or seven fish in the 6 lb class. Numbers were down, too. We boated 18 on Fri, 15 on Sat, and 12 for four hours yesterday, and that was having 3 in the boat fishing. We really never developed a pattern. We took the run to the dam 2 out of the 3 days from County ramp, graphing drops between Tigers and the dam on the USA side. We also flipped trees around Coyote and Blanco, that's where our bigger fish came from. The Rio is real chalky from Diablo north from the Amistad release. Pray for rain south Texans, pray for rain!!
