Well it's August for sure! Anybody stepped outside I think it was August about two weeks ago.....we've been sitting in this high pressure system for over a week now. High temps, steady wind, and the barometer wont drop. It can get tough this time of year, but you can still put numbers in the boat of quality fish. You just have to go out loaded for bear. You may catch them schooling breifly on artificials right at daybreak on a big spoon or slab. I've been starting out with Big Kahuna spoons and Fiesta Slabs from www.moestackleshop.com early. Some days you can limit in fifteen minutes, other days it may only be a five minute deal and only get six or eight. Good way to start the day though. After that, I've been dragging some live bait in the same areas where you find some schoolers and picking up the rest of my limit that way until about 9 or 10am. After that - Its all about dragging balls! If you dont have downriggers its tough to put keepers in the boat. We had a early morning with a few hybrid today this morning and then about 9am it turned into STRIPER FEST 2012! The best thing about today was they were fairly shallow and we had wind - which means they were frisky and we were able to release a bunch of mean/really pizzed off striper On those days they are deeper and no wind, I have to pull off of them and look for sandies. No sense in killing them when you get on them good and it is one of those dead calm days and long fights. As long as they are shallow and you have some wind, you can kill the motor on each hook up and keep the fight short and sweet. In the coming month or two, that wont be the case. Fished with Heath, David and Bill today and literally caught striper until we were tired of fighting them. They won Kept a limit of decent keepers and let some real bruisers back. I've been fighting tendonitis so bad the last few weeks that I was glad to sit back and watch the show Don't think I reeled a fish in the last few days. Ya'll have fun out there and keep me posted. I have the annual Big Country/Ladies Man Ray Birthday trip tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be another good day. Then I'm Florida Bound for TARPON fishing Won't be back for a week or so. Will be posting some Partry Boat Specials for the rest of August and September when I return. Good Fishing, Matt! Just a few of the ones we released today, and the few we kept!

Thanks guys! I have been to Destin a few times and never even knew they had them there. Bobby-Catfishing hooked me up with a great guide down there and was told there are only a few short weeks of really good tarpon fishing in that area. Luckily I'm going to be there right in the heart of it

I was one of the guys that had the opportunity to fish with Matt yesterday. This was my second time to fish with Matt so I knew what he was capable of and he did not disappoint. He was constantly working to generate bites changes techniques, speeds, colors, sizes, and beverage flavor. Thanks Matt for another memorable day on the water and I hope that I am fortunate enough to do it again. Have a safe vacation and good luck.
I would highly recommend a day on the water with Matt.
