I've bass fished all my life and want to try crappie fishing this weekend. I am wanting to use live minnows around bridge pilings. What is the best rig for this? Like hook size/type, weight size/type, etc.

What lake? We use 6# line, with jigs or minnows, 12-14 feet down. I suck at bridges.
Good luck

I usually only fish the spawn until recently. I use #2 hooks with a 1/8th oz weight about 4 to 6 inches above my hook. Thats what works for me!

Also hook minnow through lips, start at 10' with line next to bridge peer, after 15 - 30 seconds, lower 1' for same time interval, keep lowering until you get a bite. When you get a bite, concentrate on that depth area. Most bridge pilings have a cross beam between them about 10 - 15 under the surface. Work above, the side, and just below the beam.
