Got all this Hybrid from fishing with Salsa yesterday. Anyone got any great grilling recipes that are relatively easy?
Thanks.

On the half shell and fresh! They taste 10x better the day you catch them!
it's the crapy days that make the good days that much better!!!

So I grilled some fish last night. Finally just decided to sprinkle it with Tony Chachere's and dust with olive oil then cook it on the half shell. WOW - it was so good. Think I found a new way to prepare fish!!

Have a nephew who is a chef with a big time education (culinary institute of america). First time i asked him about grilling fish he said to season it just like you would a steak.
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Cut the filets into 1" cubes. Put them in boiling water with "Shrimp & Crabmeat Boil Seasoning". You'll have to test the boiling time..probably 7-8 minutes.
Chill them in the fridge, and serve on ice with red cocktail sauce.

for baking or grilling hybrid is far superior to a white bass. For frying I dont like them. I like the white.

Here is my fav... Catch, photo, release....Kill whitey....they reproduce and taste the same... this works if you like fried fish, if you don't you're in a pickle. I say if you like to eat grilled or baked fish, keep the hybrids and let the sandies go. Hybrids eat up much better on the half shell. That thick flaky meat is hard to beat baked or grilled. A good 6-7lb black bass eats up bout' the same.

Crappie make the best tacos and blue cats fry well. Everything else goes back in the lake.
