Most of the rods tha say made in america are assembled in America. I dont know if you can even find a blank that is american made. The blank, guides, seats, thread are made overseas and some companies build them here. Most buy them from china/japan

This should be done on EVERYTHING. Not just tackle, but EVERY product that comes across the ocean. Make it more expensive to ship it over here than build it here and our job problems would be solved.

+1000 BOOM!!!!! It drives me nuts that our Government will allow a Chinese company to ship cheaply made products to our country that they know are killing our economy only to provide them incentives to do it in the form of lower shipping and port costs. Plus we are at 8.2% unemployment. And we wonder why people are mad as hell. They can't find quality products worth buying most of the time and if they do and wanted to apply for a job at the company that made it they would have to learn another language. OK, I feel better now.......

Happy 4th and thank you to the veterans that have provided us a with the right to complain in a free society. flag

I'd still rather make them myself and take a little pride in something. I'm surprised no one else responded before I did.
CUTriton that is exactly the point I have been trying to get across to not just folks on this forum but everyone that I come in contact with........I'd rather the businesses not be taxed at all and then the powers that be send me a bill for what I am truely paying. I think if that were the case we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now because folks would be so in tune to how much money we are actually giving to the govt's out of our paychecks/pockets every payday they would demand and get more accountability from our politicians or we would get new ones real quick. People just don't get it unless they have seen it from the inside. Business taxes are the biggest farce in the nation/in the world. The politicians keep it all in play by keeping the class warfare game stoked.......sorry I got so far off topic but this gets me riled........

Before we get to carried away with the whole taxes thing, remember 3 things: it's a luxury tax. You don't want to pay it? Don't fish or hunt. Those taxes help pay for some of those places we like to go to hunt and fish. and some of it goes to CUTriton's 2 sons. They are on the government payroll.

One of the main reasons I shop at Project Tackle.com is their emphasis on selling products manufactured in the USA. The vast majority of their lures are made by American craftsmen in small shops all over the USA.

The point I am trying to make here is that everyone should truely know what they are paying, not avoiding taxes. Politicans call these sorts of taxes soft taxes because they are sort of hidden from the public. Most federal agencies spend 60 to 70% and more of their annual budgets feeding the glut and not actually using the majority of the money each is funded for its intended purpose. I don't believe that would be happening if the general public really knew what was coming from their income. If any of us ran a business that way it wouldn't take long to run it in the ground.......
