Both. Definitely better electronics and the skill to use them. Money would provide a boat I'd feel safer in in less than ideal conditions, meaning more time on the water.

I am 62 and had gotten to where the last 2 or 3 hours of a tourny my back and legs were just in pain and I could not fish the way I wanted too so 6 month ago I started working out lost 40lbs and now I can fish all day and keep my energy up where I want it. So just getting in shape has helped make me a better fisherman than anything I have bought in the last 10 yrs.

This is so true. I have gained over half the weight back, but I got on a health kick a year or two ago and lost 40+ lbs. I had more energy and could fish all day, but more importantly I was mentally focused. Fishing is a mental game of confidence. If your head isn't in the game, you will make poor decisions and not fish to your full potential.

+1 flehan

I'm 60 and I've lost 11 in the last month or so and feel better. Got another 10 or so to go. Now if I can just keep on resisting sampling the brownies and other goodies the wife makes for the Pastor every Sunday I'll get there! grin

to be disiplined enough to toss a jig 20 times in weed hole instead of 3-5 times! To stay more focused and enjoy the big show.

Buying more stuff from tackle warehouse. Every time I type in my credit card number I get a little better at fishing.

I'd rather have an older boat with newer better electronics on it than a newer boat with lesser electronics.

If i had 8k to spend, I'd rather buy a 4k boat and add 4k worth of electronics, than an 8k boat with mark 5's.

What would make me a better fisherman, would be doing what i think i should do, instead of sticking to a plan that's not working.

Alot of times, i get a plan in my head and when it doesn't work i keep trying to force it instead of trying one of the other things i think would work in the situation..
