Had Johnny Silva and his boys for a trip today. Same pattern as last few days. Find fish and poof gone. But i have been a liitle more patient. Wait and they will come back through. It is not a pattern that I prefer but you do what you have to to put fish in the box.All fish caught on ole uglys slabs and flies. They seem to prefer the silver ole ugly today. Had to work to get a nice box of fish. Ended up with around 80 cleaned 62 for a family fish fry. The silva family are a great crew to fish with. Dad and boys do talk some smack.
Thanks Guys sure a fun day.
Johnny
P.S. Don't forget our june week day special call me at 817-597-6598 for details.

I have received a questions about the way I fish and wanted me to start putting in in my reports.
I find fish and get on top of them and verical jig with an ole ugly slab and flies. I fish this way nearly all the time. Casting
sure does work but I just think it takes too long to cast let it settle and then bring fish in as compared to drop down jig your rig Lotz of ways to skin a cat. Again trust your electronics.
Johnny

So, Johnny, does that mean if we request GPS cords, you will start including them in the reports too? bolt rolfmao rolfmao

I was out there mid afternoon "blistering hot" and I was wondering if you happened to catch any catfish along with the sand bass? Is it normal for them to run together. I hit a couple of mixed doubles. I first thought is was sand bass hugging the bottom, but then started to notice the slight difference on the screen. Also, I saw fish schooling, but not like sandies do. Looked more like bass, the way they run in a line.

Nice job Johnny. I tried to talk the fish into staying on the saddle but I guess they didn't listen to me. I even asked nicely. smile looks like you found them anyway.
Catmanz, Catfish and largemouth like to come behind the big feeding frenzy to pick up the pieces and the wounded. I have caught many good catfish and ditch pickles directly after heavy white bass schooling has occurred. This happens on Eagle, Lewisville and Texoma for sure. I bet it is not unique to just those lakes.

That's what I'm saying. I ended up catching more catfish than sandies on the ole ugly slab. I also wanted your advice on how you "stay on top of them". Is that something you develop over time with practice. I would mark fish then loose them while trying to follow them left, right, or reverse. The wind wasn't helping any and I think I need a stronger trolling motor with a longer shaft. Keeps coming out of the water when the wind picks up.

Johnny does not stay on top of them. They come to him when he is ready for them! bow_down

Seriously, this is from a previous post of Johnny's

"I throw out a buoy. Move along the ridge and you will probally see them again. Throw out another buoy. Sometimes I will throw out 4 or 5 buoys. Many times your bouys will line up with the ridge. Anchor on the ridge or push anchor lock and watch how every 5 minutes they come under your boat. The pattern they are on right now is flying a 100 mph. When I see great marks mark spot and drop down will catch a double most of the time and they are gone. Stay put using the theory that that are on their route and will be back shortly."

That's sure what it looked like was going on, but since I'm inexperienced with the electronics and I definitely don't have the S. Johnny mojo to get them to come to me, I wasn't sure if it was me running around in circles or the other way around. Thanks for the info Karl.

The rhythmic thump of the sand bass boogie. I heard that it really works well on Benbrook. smile
