i got a light/fast 6'4" spinning rod from all star ($89.99. rang up at 39.99!!!!) and an okuma reel size 20. very light setup. also went w/ sufix 832 10 pound braid. bass or trout setup.
of course, i may have picked up a bunch of other stuff...

wow! 10 pound braid snaps a lot easier than 30 pound! dang! in fact, i've never broken off w/ 30 pound...
maybe the 10 got cut on a sharp rock...
love the rod and reel.
also got the double up rig. it has 2 baits instead of 5. should be a lot less tangles than the umbrella...

Likely to happen again this year Thanks for the info ... I've been wanting to get one of these for a while now, but hate to spend $50 when I (fingers crossed) knew I could wait and get two for that price. Its not like I "NEED" one, so waiting has not been a real issue. Heck, even if I have to wait till Black Friday, its not like I don't have (too many already) outfits to fish with.
This might be the weirdest, most pointless post ever.  I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing

Don't no about you guys but, i work at academy and i'm very disappointed in the rod riot only goes for the 14.99 - 99.99 rods i wanted a damn duckett. Also i haven't heared anything about the h2o idk about that yet and don't expect the 50% off the clearance baits anymore or ant time soon if they were going to do it would of been 2 months ago
