Got an early start and me and Mike (USMC_GY) headed south to the Hondo Creek. We had lines in the water by 9am and fishing was simply on fire. We caught good quality fish that were healthy and fat. We also caught four pending water body records for the Hondo Creek. The first was a 8" Bluegill that I caught that hit the scale at .55 lbs. The second record was a nice 9" Redbreast that Mike caught. The weight was .67 lbs. Mike also followed by catching a fat Green that weighed in at .60 lbs. The last record was a surprisingly nice Longear that was almost 8". It weighed in at .54 Lbs. Since the Hondo Creek did not have any records these will also be the first ones for Hondo Creek. The only prior records were a Large Mouth Bass and a Rio. We finished the morning by catching a bunch more fat Bluegills,some very nice Rios,several small Bass, some very nice Longear, and a few more nice Redbreast. All fish were caught using worms with both drop shot and bottom techniques being used. All fish including the records were released. After a lunch break at Tink A Taco in Castroville we headed to the Leon Creek. The fishing was slow there. We then finished the day at the Salado and picked up about 15 super nice Rios and a few more nice Bluegill. Paper work is on it's way to Austin. Creek fishing at it's best.It don't get any better than that.

Hey Chuck. How were the conditions on the Hondo Creek. Is there lots of water. Judging by the pictures the water looks clear. Thanks.
