I had a few hours away from the house today due to a house showing by the realtor. A friend drove me to the Academy in Lewisville. Oh my! Lots of nice crappie plastics, tackle boxes, line, rods and rod/reel combos stocked in that place. I was drooling. Sad part, the rack was empty of Panfish Assassin in Albino Shad. I fondled several of the new Wally Marshall/Strike King baits too. Pretty neat stuff. I admit, the Joker was a cool looking bait in the hand. Found a couple of the older Plano Stowaways which made me happy. I have read alot about people who use the Siege Tangerine fishing line. Viewed it for the first time today. Academy had lots of Wally's rods in stock compared to a recent trip to Cabelas, and Cabelas having very few. I really liked the little beetle type bait made called a Crappie Magnet.

I think my wallet is in trouble and I will probably shop the Academy more than Bass Pro in the future.

They are cheaper than BP or Cabelas!

Academy gets way more of my business than BP; the markup is ridiculous. Either way, when I'm shopping at one of them, I always pull up the website on my phone of the other store and compare before I pull the trigger and see if the $avings warrant making another trip, that is.
