Murphy's Law struck again when on the first day of a 3 day trip to Fayetteville a steering cable on my trolling motor broke. I called a local guide that I had fished with a couple of times in the past, Bob Green, and he gave me the number of Schmidt Boat Repair in Brenham. When I called their shop, they said that they would try take a look at it the next morning. I was expecting to find a guy working out of his garage, but this was a large operation with boat storage, bays, and facilities to do even major repairs. When I arrived, they had me back right in and Troy went to work on my trolling motor. An hour and a half later, he had both cables replaced and I was back in business. I thought the price was very fair and they were competent, friendly people. They are located at 375 New Wehdem Rd. just off Hwy. 36 south of Brenham. Phone number is 979.836.3033 or 877.282.7837. Hope you never need it, but those of you that frequent Fayetteville or Sommerville might want to keep the info. handy.

I've heard a lot of good things about Schmidt's.
