They are in the sabine river, trinity river, neches river, brazos river, red river, Lake Livingston, Richland Chambers, Cedar Creek, Choke canyon, Sam Rayburn, Rio Grand, Nueces River, Amistad, Falcon, and just about any other river system that has enough uninterrupted flow to have spring/early summer floods and warm water in the summer.

Ya they are in some of the spots you mentioned in catchable numbers the Rio Grande aint one of them , Falcon , Amistad are both very rough places to try for alligator gar I have fished all those places if there was a better place than the areas I fish I would be there , I drive from 50 to 120 miles 1 way each morning to go fishing so ya they are in lots of places but scattered thru most of them and some places they are there but will not bite , so....... got 9 today biggest was a 80 lb baby

Thanks guys , my dad got a 135 today with the English group , my group of Danish guys had 9 bites and caught 2 biggest was a 60 lb fish , word to the wise dont bring your own rods /reels , mine are better the reason we lost all the fish today was because of no baitrunner on the reels , fish kept feeling the drag and dropping it

X2 on not bringing your own stuff if you aren't going to put the money into it. I have had several people bring their own and have their drags lock up or the old line just snap. On separate occasions I have had 200+ pound men come close to being pulled out of the boat because of this. Don't test the fish of your life on that old rod that has been laying around, big fish don't just break your line they break your heart too.
