Hey guys! Do I need to tie a flouro leader to my braided line to throw a football jig? I have been fishing it lately tied directly onto the braid, but haven't gotten bit yet. If so, how much leader do I need?

It may be the difference....but whatever length you decide just remember To not shock the line and knot with a stupid hard hook set.

Braid makes it hard to feel bites in anything other than taught line. I would suggest switching to flouro if your dragging the bottom. The braid won't let you feel the bite until the fish pulls all the slack out of your line(and there can be a lot of slack on a long cast in 25' of water,by the time you feel the fish the hook is deeper than it needs to be and a bone jarring hookset on zero stretch line on a gut hooked fish can do a lot of damage.. I don't like braid unless its something that I can see the bite(frogs) or if I'm pitchin heavy grass

Ive caught a LOT of fish on braided line with the football jig. I prefer it over any other line to get a better hook set on big fish. But, on highly pressured lakes like Fork it does make a huge difference on the number of bites by switching to Fluoro.
