I have read that the Brazos below Whitney Dam is suppose to be one of the premier fishing spots in Texas. Has anyone tried tubing this? It looks like they have been releasing water at night these past weeks so I don't think there is any fear of getting stuck downstream. I was thinking about heading down there one day this week and givning it a try, just wanted to see if anyone else has been down there this summer.

I've never fished below the dam at Whitney. I have also heard it can really be great--especially for stripers. Do you know how restricted the access is now? I used to fish below Granbury quit a bit, but, since 9/11, you can't get within about a quarter of a mile from the dam.

A word of caution, by the way--when they are generating current, be careful. Tubes can sure be dangerous in heavy current!

There is still access below the dam. As far as them releasing water they have been doing it around 11pm so I will hopefully not have to worry about that too much.
